We live in a postcard I always say here in Maine, because we are surrounded by so much natural beauty, and this weekend, it's promoted to get out and live in it! The Great Maine Outdoor Weekend includes over 100 events around the state – in every county – and throughout the day and evening Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Common Ground Fair

September 25th-27th. This is the healthiest and more organic fair in Maine. Learn how food is made and grown, see sheep dog demonstrations, and learn healthy body work. This is the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association's big weekend, so expect to find delicious local food, handmade everything and lots and lots of animals. Ride the Wilds Jamboree; Fall Foliage Spectacular 2015

September 26th in Colebrook. Explore all the majesty of the North Country with a full day of events! Attendees will have the opportunity to explore Ride the Wilds — a 1,000 mile network of interconnected trails in Coos County – on ATV or UTV. Guests are invited to bring their own ATVs or rent-one for a day of adventure on the trails and in the mud. There will be something for everyone though with scenic tours and plenty available for those who don't ride. Activities will include: Geo-caching: An outdoor recreational activity, where participants are given coordinates and use a GPS to find hidden “caches.” This is a modern-day scavenger hunt will be offered on ATV, along the trails of Ride the Wilds or, for the less adventurous, on foot while admiring the spectacular fall foliage. The ATV only journey should take roughly three hours, while the hiking journey should be about an hour. Mud Pit: Metallak ATV Club will host a “mud run” on the property of Bear Rock Adventures. Register to drag race through the mud skip the mess and cheer on the participants from the sidelines. No matter which you choose, this is bound to be a mess of fun. An ATV simulator from NHOHVA will be set up for those who want to take a virtual ATV ride. Artisan and Food Vendors: Enjoy homemade french fries, fried dough, kettle corn and a wide variety of other concessions. Visit the artisans and crafters and find some unique wares and gifts. Various demonstrations will take place during the day Scenic Tours: Check out the awe-inspiring views in a guided ATV tour or an old-fashioned tractor pulled hay ride. Autumn Craft Festival on the Plains

September 26th and 27th, Kingston Plains, in Kingston. This event is free and open to the public, Dogs are welcome as well. Over 75 Juried craftsmen and craftswomen from all over New England will display and sell their American made works including Fused Glass, Original Watercolors, Photography, Pottery, Primitive and Folk Art, Hand Crafted Soaps, Country Woodcrafts, Fleece, Pillow-Quilts, Metal Sculpture, Tree Skirts, Doll Clothes, Pet Gifts, Cutting Birds, Fine Jewelry, Floral Basketry, Clay, Painted Stemware, Fiber Arts, Lobster Rope Mats, Wearable Art, Puzzles, Holiday Décor, Vintage Chic, Plush, Wind Chimes, Solar Lamps and more. Come and sample the culinary delights of herbal dips, maple products, jams, jellies, baked goods, hot sauces, homemade fudge and more. Festival hours are Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Live musical entertainment each day. The Fair is held rain or shine, handicap accessible and admission is free.
