Adventures of Annie: My First Time @ Peaks Island Reggae Sunday Was Insane!
What was the last adventure you went on? Have you ever gone to Reggae Sunday on Peaks?
My GF and I made plans last week to go to Peaks Island for Reggae Sunday. I have lived in Maine for 14 years and I couldn't believe I was just now doing this. And, it is so simple to do. Reggae Sunday has been a staple at Jones Landing on Peaks for forever. It's from 11a-5p and a Reggae band plays all day long. Beer and cocktails are flowing; I recommend the Rum Bucket. There is food thanks to a food truck outback that is delicious too. THIS is a summer event you must find time to do.
So, us ladies caught the 1:10p boat to Peaks this past Sunday and arrived in short order. Tickets for the Casco Bay Lines ferry are just over $7 and it gives you a round trip. We grabbed a quick lunch at wicked cute restaurant called the Peaks Island House Restaurant and we were ready to dance. It is $5 to get into the reggae party and SO worth it! Good people, good drinks, the band was awesome and then I get a big surprise! The guy I have been seeing wasn't able to come with us, but he changed his mind. He called me and said he was on the next ferry out. I was beyond happy he joined us and we had a blast. He's on his way to being a keeper!
I highly recommend you make the trip to Peaks Island for a Reggae Sunday for fun in the summer sun! Good vibes!
We were entertained as well when a game of limbo started on the dance floor. Check out the winner's ridiculous limbo skills. It is not normal to bend that way?!
