All of our thoughts and prayers go out to those that were killed or injured in the collapse of University of Miami pedestrian bridge.

According to WMUR Channel 9, the company that helped design the ill fated pedestrian bridge that collapsed at the University of Miami yesterday had a hand in the design of the Sara Long Bridge.

The horrific event in Florida unfolded on TV yesterday and 4 people were killed.

The Sarah Long Bridge project page says that the new bridge is a combined design from FIGG I Hardesty & Hanover. And, these companies signed on to design three bridges in Maine and New Hampshire. The Leonard P. Zakium bridge in Boston was also designed by the firm.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation has not released a statement on this matter.

Does this make you feel uneasy to drive on the new Sara Long Bridge?
