The Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine is a must see on any tourists list. And, even if you live here, you must see it too! And now, it's well known basket has returned.

At Cape Neddick stands a lighthouse on Nubble Island lovingly called 'The Nubble'. It was built in 1879, and has been a working lighthouse since. Since The Nubble is on an island technically, there needed to be a way to get supplies and even people from the mainland safely.

So, they built a basket that traveled over the water on metal wires back and forth. In 2013 the basket was taken down due to it being damaged by Hurricane Nemo. Now the historic basket is back in order, and making runs daily.
