Way to go, Ed Fenn Destination Imagination team, 7 Pixel People, which placed first of 40 New Hampshire teams!

Destination Imagination is an international educational program where student teams use creativity, teamwork and problem solving. Categories include: scientific, technical, fine arts, structural, improvisational, service learning and non-competitive (for the youngest students). Students of any age are welcome to join a team.

The seven Gorham students, grades 3-5, also won the coveted Da Vinci Award, only two of which are given in the state. They chose the "technical" category, and are going for extra points by combining scientific and engineering elements to their project. In the photo below, my brainiac godson is farthest left.

According to DestinationImagination.org:

"To solve our Challenges, imagination, creativity, originality and courage are required. We honor those individuals and teams who most clearly demonstrate that spirit of adventurous risk in their solutions – those who most creatively traveled to reach truly new and unique destinations. The DaVinci Award is named to honor one of humanity’s the greatest creative thinkers, Leonardo Da Vinci.”

The team has until May 10 to raise $1000 (each) to secure their team's spot at the Global Finals May 24 in Knoxville, Tennessee, where they get to share ideas, forge friendships, and become ambassadors of the future with other bright minds from around the world.
